Auch wenn Midnight zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt noch keine zwei Wochen alt ist, so haben die Entwickler gestern Abend aber trotzdem schon einmal den ersten Content Patch für die Erweiterung angekündigt. Dieser Patch trägt die Versionsnummer 12.0.5 und der PTR zum Testen des Updates ist wohl bereits gestartet. Inhaltlich dreht sich das Ganze hauptsächlich darum, dass die Armeen der Leere zurückschlagen und mehr Gebiete von Midnight angreifen. Die folgenden größeren Features sind in Patch 12.0.5 enthalten:

• Void Assaults: 
  • Die Leere greift den Immersangwald und Zul’Aman an. Spieler müssen beide Gebiete in zwei neuen World Events verteidigen.
• Ritual Sites:
  • Eine neue Form von instanzierten Content. Spieler müssen Affixe selbst festlegen und ihre Erfahrung dadurch selbständig anpassen. Jede Instanz besitzt mehrere Tiers.
• Voidforge:
  • Die Voidforge besitzt mehrere Funktionen. Spieler können dort mächtige Leerenobjekte erhalten und dadurch ihre Ausrüstungsteile auf noch höhere Gegenstandsstufen setzen. Zusätzlich dazu gewährt diese Leerenschmiede den Spielern eine spezielle neue Art von Reroll-Tokens, die es ihnen nach dem Sieg über einen Boss erlaubt, gezielt auf eine Auswahl von Beutstücken zu würfeln.
• Decor Duels:
  • Das Housing wird um einen Prop Hunt Modus in Silbermond erweitert. Im Grunde können die Spieler darüber ein Versteckspiel absolvieren. Das Ganze ist mit neuen Belohnungen verbunden.
• Abyss Anglers:
  • Angler erhalten ein neues Event in ZA. Darüber kann man in die Tiefsee tauchen und dort tropische Fische sammeln.

Basierend auf diesen Inhalten entspricht Patch 12.0.5 genau den Erwartungen, den man nach TWW an einen X.0.5 Patch setzen sollte. Das Ganze beinhaltet eine Reihe von neuen Events, kleinere Features und eine Möglichkeit zum Aufwerten der bereits verfügbaren Ausrüstungsteile. Auf diese Weise wird der grundlegende Content von Midnight etwas aufwertet und die Wartezeit auf die Inhalte aus dem deutlich größeren Patch 12.1 überbrückt. Wenn ich schätzen müsste, dann würde ich irgendwann Anfang Mai mit dem Update rechnen.

Take a Look Ahead at the 12.0.5 Content Update

In the next Midnight content update, we’re bringing more activities, building on the story, and adding more loot as we continue the efforts to push back the Void. Players will undertake new Void Assaults, disrupt powerful Ritual Sites, get a boost with Voidforge, group up for Decor Duels, and more.

Incoming Void Assaults

Void Strike

• Void Strikes take part in Eversong Woods or Zul’Aman on a weekly rotation. Once completed, a new one will begin in another part of the zone and continue to rotate through the zones.

Void Incursion

• These larger scenarios occur when enough Void Strikes have been completed in the zones and will take the might of many of Azeroth’s champions to defeat them.

Ritual Sites

Put a stop to rituals meant to empower the ambitions of power-hungry naga and Twilight’s Blade cultists in small one to five player instances. As you take on greater challenges, you’ll be able to receive greater rewards.

In Ritual Sites, you’ll choose some of the challenges you’ll face as you climb through the tiers. Players will also unlock Great Vault rewards for the World content row alongside Delves and Prey.

Players will earn Field Accolades from both Void Assaults and Ritual Sites as currency they can use to purchase Champion and Heroic quality gear and rewards.

Get a Leg up with the Voidforge

After unlocking the Voidforge, Decimus will require additional assistance to craft the Ascendant Nilhammer, allowing players to upgrade their weapons and trinkets to new heights by collecting Ascendant Voidcores.

New Activity: Abyss Anglers

Seek out Depthdiver Jeju to suit up and enter the Depths. Zip through whirlpools, catch creatures with your harpoon, and discover treasures amidst the underwater steam vents.

Prove your mastery to earn dive equipment upgrades and cosmetics.
