In der Nacht von gestern auf heute wurden in Los Angeles zum mittlerweile bereits 77. Mal die Emmy Awards (Primetime Emmy Awards) verliehen. Diese für TV-Produktionen bestimmten Auszeichnungen sind im Grunde der bedeutendste Fernsehpreis der USA und sie können ohne Weiteres auf eine Stufe mit den Oscars gesetzt werden. In 2025 wurden die Emmy Awards in insgesamt 26 verschiedenen Kategorien verliehen.
Der eindeutige Sieger des Abends ist die von AppleTV+ produzierte Comedyserie „The Studio“. Diese Produktion erhielt für seine Debüt-Staffel mit insgesamt 13 Emmy die meisten Auszeichnungen dieser Art im Jahr 2025. Zusätzlich dazu stellte das Ganze einen neuen Rekord für eine Comedyserie in einem einzigen Jahr auf. Normalerweise schneiden Comedyserien deutlich schlechter bei den Emmys ab.
Einen weiteren Rekord konnte sich der britische Schauspieler Owen Cooper sichern. Er wurde für seine Rolle in „Adolescence“ mit dem Preis für die beste Nebenrolle in einer Miniserie ausgezeichnet. Dadurch wurde der 15 Jahre alte Schauspieler zeitgleich zu dem bisher jüngsten männlichen Emmy-Gewinner aller Zeiten.
