The Mandalorian & Grogu: Die ersten Reaktionen fall sehr gemischt aus

Am 20. Mai 2026 wird das Star Wars Franchise mit dem Film „The Mandalorian & Grogu“ endlich in die Kinosäle zurückkehren und erneut auf der großen Leinwand zu sehen sein. Auch wenn dieser Termin noch einige Tage entfernt ist, so durften ausgewählte Influencer, Reviewer und Pressevertreter den Film aber natürlich bereits im Vorfeld sehen. Vor einigen Tagen ist nun auch endlich das Embargo für diese Person gefallen, sodass die Fangemeinde von Star Wars eine Reihe von ersten Reviews zu „The Mandalorian & Grogu“ erhalten hat.

Interessanterweise fallen diese ersten Reviews zu dem Film bisher überrascht gemischt aus. Einige Reviewer sind absolut begeistert von „The Mandalorian & Grogu“ und sie feiern eine Vielzahl von unterschiedlichen Aspekten des Films. Auf der anderen Seite gibt es aber auch genug kritische Stimmen, die ziemlich enttäuscht von dem Film sind und irgendwie mehr von einem Star Wars Film erwartet hätten. Auch wenn Kontroversen bei neuen Star Wars Filmen ganz normal sind, so scheinen diese gemischten Gefühle aber auf einen einzigen Faktor zurückzugehen.

Sowohl die positiven Stimmen als auch die Kritiker sind sich für gewöhnlich nämlich einig darüber, dass sich „The Mandalorian & Grogu“ einfach nur für eine längere, aufwendigere und hübschere Version einer Episode der Serie anfühlt. Während Fans der Show sich genau dieses Ergebnis gewünscht haben und sich über die Treue zu dem vorherigen Material freuen, so ist eine Erfahrung dieser Art aber natürlich uninteressant für Zuschauer, die die Show zuvor bereits nicht wirklich mochten. Das Ganze klingt auf jeden Fall so, als würden zumindest Fans von „The Mandalorian“ bei dieser Produktion auf ihre Kosten kommen.

Criticism and nitpicks aside, #TheMandalorianAndGrogu    is a solid line drive past second base, w/ lots of „Neat… haven’t seen that in a STAR WARS before“ charm. It has one or two stand out scenes but it feels much more interested in developing the story to new locations with new creatures than the characters. An emotionless, predictable experience that doesn’t push Din Djarin anywhere interesting. Dull, unexciting fight scenes; just CGI monsters. Action figures mashed together.
