Der neue Kaiju-Film „Godzilla Minus Zero“ soll offiziell erst im November 2026 in die Kinos kommen. Vor dieser weltweiten Veröffentlichung feierte dieser von Takashi Yamazaki erschaffene Film an vergangenen Wochenende allerdings erst einmal im Rahmen des New York Film Festivals seine Premiere. Dort durften ausgewählte Kritiker und Vertreter der Presse bereits einen Blick auf diese neue Produktion werfen. Diese Personen haben ihre Erfahrungen mit dem Film mittlerweile in den sozialen Medien veröffentlicht, sodass man einen guten ersten Eindruck von der Qualität von „Godzilla Minus Zero“ gewinnen kann.
Bisher fallen diese ersten Eindrücke alle enorm positiv aus. Alle Meinungen bezeichnen den Film als einen würdigen Nachfolger des preisgekrönten Originals, der viele Elemente des Vorgängers noch weiter ausbaut und verbessert. Die Kritiker loben die Action, die extrem gelungenen Effekte und die eindrucksvolle Geschichte rund um den nie endenden Kreislauf von Kriegen. Dabei scheint „Godzilla Minus Zero“ sogar einige durchaus überraschende und unerwartete Ideen zu beinhalten, die selbst normalen Kinobesuchern abseits der etablierten Fangemeinde gefallen sollten.
Solche ersten Eindrücke lassen sich zwar oft von der frischen Erfahrung und dem Hype rund um ein Projekt mitreißen, aber sie sind gleichzeitig auch immer ein guter Indikator dafür, wie eindrucksvoll ein Film ist. In diesem Fall darf man wohl hohe Erwartungen an „Godzilla Minus Zero“ haben.
